Germany's Great Bavarian Circus sets up in the Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds parking lot from April 30 through May 10, eleven days, multiple shows daily, the full traditional European touring circus format.
Touring circuses at this scale are rarer than they used to be. This one operates out of the German tradition: a genuine big-top tent, live performers, a production that travels as a self-contained unit and reassembles in each city. The format is different from arena-based family shows, more intimate, more improvised in feel, with the physical presence of the tent and the traveling nature of the company built into the experience.
The Pensacola Interstate Fairgrounds at 6655 Mobile Highway has enough space to set up the full production without the logistical compression you get at some venues. Parking is on-site.
