The Blue Angels released their full 2026 air show schedule Tuesday, listing 32 events across 32 cities from March through November, with local practice season at NAS Pensacola beginning the week of April 20.
\n\nPractices typically run Tuesday and Wednesday mornings at Sherman Field on the installation. They are not guaranteed, the team's operational calendar can shift, but when the Angels fly their practice runs, they do so over Pensacola Bay at altitudes and speeds that make them visible from much of the city and the beach. Practice sessions are where the team builds the precision required for the show season, running tighter formations and longer repetition cycles than they fly at public events.
\n\nCivilians who want to watch from the flight line behind the National Naval Aviation Museum should be aware of a March 2026 policy change that affects access. A directive from the NAS Pensacola commanding officer now restricts non-DoD civilian access to the installation to Saturdays and Sundays only, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., with advance screening required through the Visitor Control Center at the south end of Navy Boulevard. Practices run on weekdays. Civilians hoping to use the museum flight line for practice viewing will need to coordinate access through the VCC, and should contact the museum or the installation directly to understand current procedures before making the trip.
\n\nThe Blue Angels have been stationed at NAS Pensacola since 1954 and fly the Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet. The Pensacola Beach Air Show, the team's home show, returns July 11 and 12. Last year the event drew an estimated 400,000 spectators over two days. Causeway access, parking and beach accommodations for that weekend fill well in advance.
