The Broadway touring production of Mrs. Doubtfire plays Saenger Theatre Tuesday, April 7 and Wednesday, April 8, both at 7:30 p.m. Tickets from $75 through Ticketmaster or the Saenger box office.

The show is adapted from the 1993 film and the 2010 novel it was based on, the story of a divorced father who disguises himself as a Scottish nanny to spend time with his kids. The Broadway version opened in 2021 and earned generally strong reviews for its staging and for the lead performance, which requires sustained physical comedy across two acts. The touring production carries the same production design.

This is a show that rewards bringing teenagers who grew up on the film. The material is familiar, the staging adds things the film could not do, and the Saenger's size makes the experience feel immediate in a way that larger touring venues do not. The theater seats 1,641 and there is not a bad sightline in the house.
