Pensacola FC opens its 2026 National Premier Soccer League season Saturday at 7 p.m. at Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Complex on the University of West Florida campus, carrying a three-year playoff streak into a home opener against the Mississippi Brilla.
\n\nEight players return from the 2025 roster, anchored by a defensive back line that allowed the fewest goals in the Gulf Coast Conference last year. Head coach Marcus Diaz addressed the one clear gap from 2025, finishing, by bringing in four new forwards in the offseason. Whether the new pieces convert on the chances the defense creates will determine how deep the playoff run goes this year.
\n\nThe NPSL is a semi-professional league in the American soccer pyramid, serving primarily as a proving ground for college players and emerging talent on professional development tracks. Several former Pensacola FC players have advanced from League Two to the USL Championship or MLS. The level of play rewards a watching-it-develop frame of mind more than it rewards impatience with the product.
\n\nAshton Brosnaham is a well-maintained facility on the northwest edge of the UWF campus with clean sightlines from most vantage points. General admission is $10, with student tickets at $5. Parking is available in adjacent UWF lots. The atmosphere around a winning program tends to run warmer than the attendance numbers suggest, and this club has been a winning program three seasons running.
